PROJECTS
SEARCHSEARCH (Scientifically Educating Appalachian Rural Communities and Homes) is a concept created in late 2013 to early 2014. It placed in the top eight projects in the country in the 2014 Christopher Columbus Awards.

SPOT-RSPOT-R (Seeking People Over Terrain Remotely) is a search and rescue multi-rotor that will be used in the rugged areas of Western North Carolina. It won a $5,000 grant from the eCybermission competition in 2015.

Avery MakersAvery Makers is a new initiative that is designed to help students from all grades and ages get tools, resources and professional assistance on their ideas. This can help individuals living in the high country to get patents, fund projects or enter competitions.

ABOUT
The Appalachian Science Experiment was created by three students in Avery County, North Carolina. It was created during the development of the SPOT-R(Seeking People Over Terrain Remotely) concept. Which is a search and rescue multi-rotor device for assisting in locating lost individuals in western North Carolina.
The team now has seven members and is continuing to create projects and ideas to bring Avery County, North Carolina into the future. |
